Mt. Elgon Nook Hub

The Nook Hub is located in Natondome Village, Bungokho Sub-county, Mbale District. Most residents are subsistence farmers, while many youth work as motorcycle (bodaboda) riders or prepare street foods like Kikomando and Rollex. The community has a rich culture, known for traditions like bullfighting and festivals. A lack of relevant education has caused high dropout rates, limiting skills and trapping many youth in poverty. This has increased crime, substance abuse, and teenage pregnancies. Environmental degradation and rising fuel prices have increased living costs.
