Umling Village is located in the Ribhoi District of Meghalaya, approximately 65 kilometers from Shillong and 10 kilometers from Nongpoh. Nestled in a valley surrounded by lush green hills, forests, and betel nut trees, it is also part of the Nongkhyllem Wildlife Sanctuary.
The village’s economy is primarily agricultural, with residents cultivating bananas, pineapples, jackfruits, betel leaves, and nuts. Umling has over 400 households and a population of around 3,000.
